What’s Better than all your Favourite Nintendo Characters battling for victory! Super Smash Bros. was a great N64 game, but didn’t compare to Mario Kart 64. But Super Smash Bros. Melee is possibly one of Gamecube’s Best Titles so far! This is one unique Fighting game.

Visuals

Super Smash Bros. has amazing graphics. Seeing all the Nintendo Stars in cool 128 – bit graphics couldn’t get better. The Backgrounds are not better than the characters but are near enough the same. With levels like Mute City (the F-Zero Track) and Peaches Castle there are hazards and objects that can affect your battle, like giant bombs, F-zero racers and much more. The actual fighting doesn’t make the graphics look bad. Characters such as Bowser can do moves like breathe fire, which looks really good. There is no Slow-down on this game at all. It runs perfectly even when there is 4 players or a team of Mr. Game and Watch. On Options you can change the graphics by putting on the “Deflicker” which makes the graphics sharper and see more edges. When Deflicker is off the game smoothens up and goes slightly blurry. Depending on your television set, should you put it on or off.

Audio

There’s not really much to say, this Game has got to have the best audio in all gaming history. You get all your Favourite Nintendo Theme Music, plus the usual sounds from Mario, Yoshi, Link, Donkey Kong and so on. Once unlocked, you can go to Sound Test and listen to every song and sound in the entire game. You get catchy remade music from classics like Dr Mario, Super Mario World and The Legend of Zelda. The music in this game makes the action twice as fun!

Gameplay

The Gameplay for Super Smash Bros. Melee is similar to the previous N64 Smash Bros. It has that special essence of Fun and Fast action. It isn’t difficult to play and you will adapt to the controlling very quickly. There is also so much to accomplish in this game. With over 300 Trophies to get and Secret Characters and Tracks to unlock, this game will last you a long time, maybe til we see another Smash Bros. to add to the series. One Player includes an Adventure mode and classic mode, where you can test your skill against the computer and try to unlock things in the game. Such modes will keep you playing but Vs Melee is where the most fun is. Whether you play against the computer or your friends, you will enjoy playing again and again in all the many features and modes such as Giant Melee and Coin Battle.

The Graphics in this game are excellent and near perfect. Seeing all the classic Nintendo games brought to amazing 3D Graphics is what makes the game what it is. The lost mark goes to when characters may go through platforms when descending to a lower level. This is not an error because they are meant to do so but when up close can look a bit funny.

Pure Greatness for Audio and Music! With Catchy themes and funny sound effects. What more could Nintendo offer!

Gameplay 5/5

Brilliant Gameplay! It is easy to get used to. Even if you’re not a true Nintendo fan, this game has the ability to entertain all gamers, it’s just that damn good!

Lifespan 4/5

This Game will last your for a long time. A lot to unlock and a lot of trophies to get, but after a long while, it can get too difficult for some.

If you got a Gamecube, BUY THIS GAME!! If you don’t, buy a Gamecube just for this Game!
